Prior to ARE, Han was the Head of Carlyle’s China real estate business since 2004 and a Partner at Carlyle. During his 14-year tenure at Carlyle, Han designed and implemented Carlyle’s real estate investment strategies in China, and completed $4.2 billion of transactions in total capitalization. Under Han’s leadership, Carlyle invested in all property sectors in China including office, retail, logistics, residential and mixed-use assets; the transactions ranged from asset acquisitions, joint venture developments, and platform formations to pre-IPO entity-level investments. Han was a board member of Kaisa Group Holdings from 2007-2009.

Prior to joining Carlyle, Han was the General Manager of Global Servicing Solutions, a subsidiary of Merrill Lynch focused on non-performing loan and real estate investments in China. Prior to that, he worked as an M&A Associate at Deutsche Bank. Han received his M.B.A. from the University of Chicago, his Master of Pacific International Affairs from the University of California, San Diego, and his Bachelor of Arts from Beijing Institute of International Relations.
