Prior to ARE, Shirlene was a Managing Director at Carlyle as a key member of its China real estate team. She joined Carlyle in 2008 and has been responsible for sourcing, acquisition, asset management and disposition of commercial properties on behalf of Carlyle and its funds and separate accounts.

Prior to Carlyle, Shirlene was a member of the Principal Transaction Group at Morgan Stanley in New York, where she focused on originating commercial real estate debt. Prior to that, she worked as a Business Analyst at JP Morgan Chase. Shirlene received her M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and graduated summa cum laude from Cornell University.
